Voting Question: Which one would be better for a non insulated garage an evaporative cooler or an air conditioner?

Ive been told that evaporative coolers work really well and cost very little to operate, and that air conditioners dont work well if the place is not insulated, the garage is about 400 sq and it gets really hot, ive been planning on getting this cooler: http://www.amazon.com/Evaporative-Swamp-Coolers-MasterCool-Mobile/dp/B0009K2ZWM/ref=pd_bbs_sr_11?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1214207084&sr=8-11 It seems to be very effective and i beleive it'll do the trick, i live in placentia, ca where its not too humid, but i need to know if its worth buying an evaporative cooler and if it will actually cool down my garage.
